At Care South, are looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join the team at Talbot View, our modern, elderly and dementia residential care home. With strong ties to the Ensbury Park Community and promoting an open and inclusive atmosphere, Talbot View is located in Bournemouth
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a varied range of building maintenance and repairs to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our elderly residents at our home at Talbot View and with the flexibility to cover other local properties in the area
This role is Monday - Friday with no weekend working.
Key duties will include both planned and reactive maintenance covering: plumbing, heating, electrical, decoration, fire testing, care equipment and carpentry.
We are looking for the following skills/experience:
- Basic Electrical Safety Certificate
- Knowledge of Plumbing and Legionella
- Experience using heating, electrical and fire systems
- Can confidently use own initiative and work with minimum supervision
- MEWPS experience - desirable but not essential
- Heating and/or Plumbing qualifications – ideal but not essential
Ideally you will have experience of working in a care home or similar environment, dealing with a number of maintenance tasks on a daily basis.
