Pay rate : £14.00 per hour 4 day working week

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Second Chef to join our brand-new team at Marjorie House, our spectacular 50 bed specialist dementia and residential care home in Lilliput, Poole.
The Second Chef will bring outstanding commitment & presentation skills coupled with a real love for your role, & the team you work within.
Care South look forward to welcoming a TEAM focused key appointment to the Hospitality & Catering department. You will be working daytime hours with no late nights & every other weekend off giving a great work life balance.
Our new purpose-built Art Deco building has stunning views over Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island and will be opening in September 2024.

What you will be doing:
- Creating, preparing, and cooking all fresh nutritious and varied meals for our residents
- Ensuring preparation and presentation is always to a high standard
- Supervising and supporting our kitchen staff
- Assisting the Head Chef in planning meals and consulting with residents and care staff to ensure that individual dietary needs and preferences are catered for
- Covering for the Head Chef when necessary: assuming responsibility for ordering, checking in and controlling supplies
Who are we looking for:
Someone with passion for food!
You will be organised with the ability to meet deadlines.
Your experience and presentation will lead the hospitality & kitchen team in producing attractive and high-quality meals in high volumes.
We’re looking for someone with a Certificate in NVQ Level 2 Food Production/ Hygiene or interested in undertaking one. You will need an understanding of health and safety and other current relevant legislation.
Confidence to take the lead when needed as well as be a team player.
